47. I See a Cat, by Paul Meisel

47.    I See a Cat, by Paul Meisel

Meisel, P. (2017). I see a cat. NY: Holiday House.

This is a story about the simple life of a dog. The book follows him through his happy day.  Sitting inside his house, the dog watches other animals pass by the glass door . . . a bird, a cat, a squirrel, mice, a fly a bee. Until his beloved boy comes home, and the two friends dash outside, determined to get up close and personal with all the backyard wildlife!

This is an easy to read story.  The artwork helps to tell the story.  There are few words, and they are repetitive. On the publisher’s web site, I found a set of vocabulary word cards that can be used when teaching this book.
